Is this the world’s coolest desk?
This may just be the coolest desk in the world. The Stir Kinetic desk is more than just a desk. It’s got built-in discrete outlets, built-in touch controls, and a cool modern design, but that’s not what makes this desk awesome.

What makes the Stir awesome is that it makes you healthier. The Stir moves up or down hydraulically, offering both a standing desk, a sitting desk, and everything in between. A touch tablet built into the desk allows manual adjustment, but it also adjusts automatically to your habits, kind of like the NEST thermostat, and other devices that are simplifying our lives.
It even tracks the calories you burn by standing, squatting, or doing what you’re doing, and it makes it all viewable on the built-in tablet, as well as on a few connected devices, like Fitbit’s Fitbit band. If Jawbone ever moves over to bluetooth, which they should eventually, or if Nike takes notice of this for their fuel band, those devices could presumably be adjusted as well.
It’s a bit too modern and minimalist in design for my taste (I need drawers), but it’s definitely pretty awesome if you’re into the idea of a standing desk, but don’t want to stand all day. It’s going on sale soon for around $3800.
