Startup of the Month: Followletter – A better Alternative To Email Newsletters and RSS

For our third ever installment of Startup of the Month, we’ve decided after much deliberation on FollowLetter. Essentially, FollowLetter allows for email newsletters without flooding your inbox. As a blogger, I personally subscribe to dozens of newsletters on marketing, technology, and business, and it often crowds out the more important and pressing emails in my inbox.

The reason we debated naming them startup of the month is that they have yet to launch their product to the public. We’re featuring them purely based upon screenshots, and publicly available information.

Nevertheless, it looks like a phenomenal product. Beyond the benefits to users of unified subscriptions, and a cleaner inbox,  FollowLetter also offers some pretty awesome benefits to publishers. Built-in to their system is a major social component, and that means that content for involved publishers will have wider reaches than ever.

Finally, we chose them based on design. The design of the product is very minimalist, with basic design elements that look great, and a real-time feed that reminds us a bit of Twitter.

With the closing of Google’s Reader service, this couldn’t come at a better time to gain market share, and I’m very excited to see what this product becomes.

Congratulations to the staff of Followletter!
