A $44,000 Camera- Lenses Not Included

An old tale goes that one friend asked another, “What is the fastest wait to become a millionaire?” and the friend responded “Start with with billions of dollars and develop a photo hobby”. Photography is expensive, but this is ridiculous. The Hasselblad H4D-200MS retails for $43,995 and includes a 200 MP image sensor.

On the one hand, that’s more than 13 times the quality of most DSLRs. On the other hand, that costs more than most cars. Not to mention lenses are not included. That will cost you an aditional $2,000 +. A memory card will cost you at least $350. In total, for a basic featureset it will cost you about $46,000. Here’s a video from the company explaining it. I’m just not sure how the quality can justify the cost.
