Today I’m going to walk you through how to update your iphone, ipod touch, or ipad using Wifi. A Quick tutorial for those who need help.
Make sure you are running iOS 5 or higher (you probably are) and have a nearly full battery (or put it on a charger) and connect to a wifi network.
Go to settings and General and tap on “Software Update”. Once again if it is not there you are not running ios 5. If “Download and Install” is grayed out then you need to connect to Wifi. If not then just tap the button and you should be good.
The update itself is relatively small (about 1/11 the size of some game apps) so the update should only take 5-10 minutes at which point your phone will warn you that it will restart.
Enjoy your latest update. There may be a new update by December of 2011 with a second battery fix if you are a 4S owner with battery troubles.
