A Billion Lives Wasted (Facebook Hits 1 Billion Active Users)

Facebook’s growth has slowed, but it’s still massive. Today Zuckerberg announced via his Timeline that Facebook has hit 1 billion monthly active users. That’s nearly 1/7 of the globe.

Facebook’s revenue right now may be limited, but the fact that one in seven people around the globe use it every month proves that it still has enormous potential. Facebook isn’t done yet. I have plenty of friends under 25 who aren’t on Facebook. So there’s still plenty of room for growth. Facebook has low earnings, but with reform of their advertising program they can be making billions more very quickly.

The fact is that no other product manufactured by one company is used by over a billion people. It’s simply unheard of. You can see Zuckerbergs blurb below. Do you think Facebook can achieve the success people were expecting pre-IPO?
