Sometimes we need something a bit more in-depth than a 500 word blog post, or a magazine, so I’ve decided to start an online book club, and you’re invited!
Today, I’m unveiling our first book club book, “The Everything Store”, by Brad Stone. Read it now, and next month, we’re going to find something cool for us to do with the book (maybe an interview with the author?).
How To Participate
We’ll be doing something cool here in mid June. In the mean time, please post your review of it on our Facebook page, after you’ve read it. I want to know whether y’all approve of my choice of book. Don’t forget to sign up for our newsletter, or to like our Facebook page, so you can see the finished product, after everyone has read this.
About the book
“The Everything Store” tells the story of Amazon, and Jeff Bezos, its brilliant, eccentric founder. It tells a story of betrayal, and brilliance, and of a man willing to do everything necessary to make his vision come true.
This book isn’t too technical. It doesn’t dive into Amazon’s complex systems, or technical innovations. Rather, it covers the brilliance of how Bezos and team successfully built a massive retailer in a competitive environment, with all odds against them.
I’ve really enjoyed it so far (I’m about 1/2 way through), and I think you will too. You can buy it here, on Amazon (oh, the irony).
