Official word has reached us from Cupertino California. Apple will hold a black friday sale on Friday November 23rd, or as they refer to it “shopping event”. It will take place in-store, online, and by phone.
Why is this so significant? Unlike most retailers, Apple very rarely has sales. They never have events like this more than once per year, and their only other consistent promotion is the itunes giftcard with computer purchase.
Why is that the case? Apple has no need to cut prices…ever… because of how popular their products are. They literally never do, and they run a tight ship which means no customer appreciation month. Until recently, Apple employees barely even got a discount off of full price on their own products.
You can usually save at least $100 per device (sometimes a few hundred), and more on accessories, so if you’re on the market for a new device, that’s a good time to buy. I’ll probably buy some accessories for my phone and computer, but nothing major. I’m just looking for little deals to have fun with. My nerdiest friends are camping out outside of big box stores to pick up Hard drives for their servers, and SSDs for their computers. What are you getting on Black Friday?
