Adobe CS6, Buy or Rent?

Adobe just released the latest iteration of their creative suite, and with that has come questions of whether to buy the whole suite, or subscribe to their reasonably cheap creative suite service. I put together a small guide to help those considering this question.

Buy it

You plan on using it for at least three years. You only need certain software, and not the whole suite. You are a student that qualifies for the student discount. You don’t ever plan to upgrade. You have a previous CS and don’t need the latest features (the last one is a don’t buy, meaning you don’t need to buy it period.)

Rent it

You frequently upgrade your CS to the latest version. You use both Windows and Mac for different CS projects. You plan to use CS for 2 years or less and don’t need it for more. You need most or all of the programs included. You are not a student.
